Holiday information and video about Lliber
The town of Llíber belongs to the region of the Marina Alta and is located in the Pop Valley, where the course of the Jalón or Gorgos River receives the Barran del Cau. Formate its alluvium in Llíber plain, shared with the Jalón term.
The rest of the term is broken by the Penya Roja to the north, Lloma Llarga and Tossal del Cau (726 meters of altitude) to the south.
You can access this town by road, through the N-332 to access Benisa to CV-745. It limits with the municipal terms of Alcalalí, Benissa, Gata de Gorgos, Jalón, Pedreguer and Senija.
The town sits at the foot of a hill crowned by a castle, which was the residence of the erstwhile Marquis of Denia; of note are the towers if Mig, Galliner and Carsell.
The city has well preserved ancient walls and bastions. From the hilltop esplanade there is an excellent view of Denia and its surrounding countryside.
Among the monuments in the town worthy of a visit are the 18th-century church of the Asunción; the 17th-century Atarazanas (dockyards); the cloister and church of San Antonio and the 18th -century, neoclassical town hall building.
Just outside the town you can visit the hermitages of the conquest- Sant Joan (gothic), Santa Paula and Santa Lucía (gothic), constructed in the 14th and 15th centuries, and also the Torre del Gerro (17th C.) located on the cliff next to the cape of San Antonio.
The festivities are celebrated in honor of San Roque in the second half of August.
Recreation & Leisure
Its proximity to Penya Roja, Lloma Llarga and Tossal del Cau makes it ideal for scenic routes such as the Riuraus route or the Pujada del Calvari route.
Among the places of interest of the town are the church of Sant CosLlíberme and Sant Damià, built in the 19th century, or the old farmhouses of Marnes and El Cau.
In Llíber for centuries, quality products made in an artisanal way have been produced and can be bought in their shops:
wine and mistela, raisins, sausages and traditional pastries (sweet potato cakes, coca maría, burnt bread, almonds, etc.)
The climate is warm and temperate in Llíber. The rain falls especially in the winter, with relatively little rain in the summer.
The average annual temperature is 17.4 ° C.
